Where ice meets black stone
Rimefrost beyond the familiar northern fortress
Glacial ice, dark volcanic ground and geothermal steam define Rimefrost. Survival matters more than monumental fantasy castles.

Cold is not the entire story
Rimefrost is a country of glaciers, black volcanic ground and steaming springs. That combination matters because it refuses the easy image of a frozen kingdom made entirely of ice. Heat and cold exist in the same landscape, creating hazards and rare opportunities for shelter.
A believable northern settlement answers the weather. Rooflines stay low; walls protect entrances; routes seek safe ground. No massive ice palace is needed to make the place memorable.
What the geology permits
Volcanic stone, glacial meltwater and geothermal steam leave visible marks. Mineral deposits collect near warm water; dark rock gives scale to pale ice. Good world art shows these materials behaving differently instead of covering everything with the same blue glow.
Nakh and Kelda are useful design entries for looking at this problem. Their game-world details are presented as concepts, not retroactive events from the novels.
A horizon with limits
The far northern ridges approach the Wound. The landscape can suggest the unease of that proximity without explaining protected cosmology or staging an invented encounter.
The strongest view of Rimefrost may be a small shelter against a huge cliff, a wet black shoreline or steam lifting from a fissure. Those details make the world larger because they give its inhabitants something real to endure.
